Large Lava Rock - 10 lb bag
Fire Rock can be used by itself or as a filler under and around our fire pit or fireplace products. With our lava rock you can give your fireplace or fire pit the appearance that it is filled with Urban fire glass, without the additional expense. The average size of the larger fire rock is 3/4" to 1.5". In addition, our fireplace or fire pit lava rock also helps retain the heat more than your traditional gas logs,which makes your fire pit or fireplace more efficient.
We recommend placing the lava rock down first and then topping with the fire pit glass. You can use the larger lava rock and then fill in with the smaller to help prevent the fireglass from falling down into the larger pieces.
Please note that due to the density of our lava rock, a 10 lb bag of lava rock is equivalent to a 20lb bag of fireglass.
On the average a fireplace will take between 50 and 75 lbs of glass or lava rock. We recommend using 2"- 3" thick layer of Fireglass over the lava rock to get the Proper flame.
